Who are you?
What are the skills, traits and qualifications we need?
✓ Strong client management experience.
No two clients are the same. You’ll need to tailor your approach, adapt to different industries, and handle the nuances of each client relationship.
✓ Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance
You’ll need a solid understanding of financial processes, account management, and client-facing delivery.
✓ Qualifications
A relevant qualification in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance (e.g., minimum L3 AAT, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
✓ Communication
You must be a confident communicator, able to explain the finances clearly to clients at all levels as well as communicating with colleagues.
✓ Client Management
Managing multiple bookkeeping client accounts comes with challenges. You’ll need exceptional time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills to stay on top of deadlines and expectations.
✓ Meeting Deadlines
Challenges will arise – from tight deadlines to complex financial scenarios with clients. You are someone who thrives under pressure and is still solution focused.
✓ Business Mindset:
Commercial awareness is a must, our clients are all small to medium sized businesses that are hugely passionate about the direction they are heading in, understanding this and the little things that really count are imperative.
✓ Cloud Based Accounting Tech
Familiarity with cloud-based accounting tools, (e.g. Xero, Dext, Excel, Futrli) and the ability to learn new systems quickly will be key to your success with Ookkee – We LOVE tech!

The Role
As a Senior Client Manager, you’re not just managing numbers – you’re making a real difference to the businesses we work with. Here’s why your role is so important:
- Ensuring all KPIs and deliverables are met in line with the required scope of work (e.g., MI packs, VAT, CIS, etc.).
- Overseeing client onboarding projects, including proposals, alignment meetings, AML checks, migrations, and training to provide a seamless experience.
- Leading quarterly metronome reviews to manage client scope, assess value, and foster continuous improvement.
- Identify issues or discrepancies before they become problems and find proactive solutions to keep clients stress-free.
- You’ll help clients understand their finances so they can grow their businesses.
- Every client is different, and so are their needs. You’ll adapt and build strong relationships, becoming the person they trust to get things done.
- Keep things efficient by working smarter, not harder. Keeping software and regulatory training up to date for both you and your team, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- You’ll bring personality, go above and beyond, and a can-do attitude to everything you do.
- Delegating tasks to trainees that match their skills while ensuring high-quality results.
- Supervising trainee work related to your clients, maintaining professional standards and attention to detail.
You’ll be the bridge between the finances and real business success, helping clients stay on track while making their lives easier. If you love the mix of problem-solving, relationship building, and hands-on bookkeeping, this is the role for you.
The Package
Salary: £27,000–£32,000 per year, based on experience.
- Individual medical insurance after probation, with family cover available after extended service.
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off.
- Weekly online team check-in session, allowing for support and connection with the team.
- Identify issues or discrepancies before they become problems and find proactive solutions to keep clients stress-free.
- Monthly company briefings, ideal for staying connected during training and beyond.
- Quarterly team activities like volleyball, bowling, meals or other challenges chosen by the team.
